Tampines is an East Region suburban town and planning area in Singapore. It is bordered by Bedok, Paya Lebar, Pasir Ris, Changi and Singapore Straits on the south. Tampines planning area is 20.89 square kilometers making it the third largest planning area by size. It has a population of 258, 310 hence it ranks the third regarding population. Initially, Tampines was a swampland full of jungles, forests and sand quarries. The forest was used in military training practices and was famous for the ironwood trees which were abundant.
The name Tampines originated from sengui Tampines which is the name of the ironwood trees. The developments of the new town of Tampines started in 1978 when Neighborhoods 1 and 2 were initiated and were completed by 1987. The other neighborhoods followed along but not in their respective orders. The latest construction works have been changed from the previous designs. The designs, finishing, and colors were changed to more attractive ones rather than the previously preferred uniform concrete slab houses. Most of this changes occurred after the housing and development board handed over the construction of the town to Tampines town council in 1991.
There are over 152,000 HDB flats which are spread over the Tampines region. Other amenities like parks are strategically located along the housing precincts. Some of the parks include Tampines Retail Park, Tampines Hi-Tech Park, Changi Business Park, and Tampines Wafer Fab Park among others. Commercial and shopping services in the region are abundant. The Tampines Regional Centre hosts some commercial retail facilities like Tampines Mall, Century Square and Tampines 1. The malls have all the facilities and commercial services that a town could ever need. Other malls and notable facilities which are not located in the town but are within Tampines planning area include East Point Mall, Singapore Expo, Change City Point, and Tampines Regional Library which also has services in our Tampines Hub. The region boasts of six MRT stations with some of them having interchange stations with bus services and the Changi Airport Branch Line in the region. Several major road networks connect with local roads to ease road movements in the area, for example, the Pan-Island Expressway, Tampines Expressway, and East Coast Parkway. Tampines is close to becoming an ultimate self-sufficient town in matters of commercial and social needs as planned by the urban planning policy. An array of social amenities and facilities in the region are driving Tampines towards this goal.

I received wonderful service from Jimmy. He reached our location at the agreed timing and proceeded to analyse the situation with our broken lock and explained how he will fix the problem. When we enquired more on the different lock models available for replacement, he was not pushy and explained the pros and cons of each model. In the end, we selected what we thought suited us best. Great & prompt service and I feel very lucky that I found this shop from google! Our main door lock suddenly got spoiled which caused unable me to get in the house on sunday morning. I was exhausted and tired after long walk and grocery shopping. They promptly helped to open the door and replace new one at reasonable price. Not over & hard selling and it's in fact cheaper than other 2 places that I compared. They explained well whats wrong and how they are going to fix it. Keep up the good work! We were very happy and pleased with David's service. He was very focussed and professional, managed to pry our door open in less than 5 minutes. He even offered us advice on how to ensure that we dont end up locking ourselves out of our bedroom again. Fast and efficient service, arrived in my house in 30 minutes and finished unlocking the door in 1 minutes time. I am glad that I am still able to use this door lock after unlocking the door lock. Really recommend for emergency door-unlocking.
