The population of Bukit Batok constitutes mainly of the Chinese who represent over 70% of the people in the region. Other tribes in the region include the Malays, Indians and other smaller tribes. In the 1920s the region was dominated by vast plantations of pineapple and rubber. Now, the town is fully developed with schools, major shopping malls like the West Mall and recreation centers like the Bukit Batok Stadium, a swimming complex, Bukit Batok Town park, and Bukit Batok Nature Park. The methods of transportation in the region include trains and buses which have regular routes and schedules. Bukit Batok is a very stable region both economically and politically. These factors are supported by a fully functional town in the area which has all the necessary recreational, educational and business amenities one can ever need. The infrastructure and the transportation systems in the region are also very reliable.
