Bukit Panjang is a planning area in the West Region of the Republic of Singapore. It was previously called Zhenghua. The planning area boasts of a fully developed residential town which is located at the bottom-lying side of an elongated hill in the region. The planning area covers 3.47 square miles with an estimated population of over 139,000 people according to the 2015 population census. The Chinese community covers over seventy percent of the population followed by the Malays, the Indians, and other tribes respectively. Bukit Panjang is a suburban town which has been developed systematically like the other planning areas.
The town’s growth and developments started in 1981 by the rise of HBD flats. The development process was divided into neighborhoods. Several of them have been developed since then, with the latest addition being Neighborhood 5 and 6. Bukit Panjang planning area is governed by the Holland-Bukit Panjang Town Council which is responsible for the overseeing and maintenance of the many HDB apartment flats in the region and other commercial properties in the region. There are also other major housing developments in the area which are still under the care of the council.
There are other recreational centers and social amenities like community centers (CC) such as Bukit Panjang CC, Zhenghua CC, and the recently added Senja-Cashew CC. The community centers are used for entertainment, educational and recreational purposes by the residents and visitors. Social amenities like shopping plazas, supermarkets, hawker centers, and shopping centers are also available in the region. The most outstanding amenities include the Bukit Panjang Plaza which is the biggest mall in the area and Bangkit Shopping Centre which comes alive in the weekends and during the Chinese festivities. Bukit Panjang is well endowed with infrastructures such as major highways like the Bukit Timah Expressway and the Krasi Expressway which connect to other smaller roads in the region. These are the routes of buses in the area which are a very reliable means of transport due to their fixed schedules. There is also an automated rail system which integrates with the bus routes. Bukit Panjang is a very quiet town in comparison to the neighboring housing estates complemented by very diverse shopping centers, infrastructure, social amenities, and well-managed housing systems.

I received wonderful service from Jimmy. He reached our location at the agreed timing and proceeded to analyse the situation with our broken lock and explained how he will fix the problem. When we enquired more on the different lock models available for replacement, he was not pushy and explained the pros and cons of each model. In the end, we selected what we thought suited us best. Great & prompt service and I feel very lucky that I found this shop from google! Our main door lock suddenly got spoiled which caused unable me to get in the house on sunday morning. I was exhausted and tired after long walk and grocery shopping. They promptly helped to open the door and replace new one at reasonable price. Not over & hard selling and it's in fact cheaper than other 2 places that I compared. They explained well whats wrong and how they are going to fix it. Keep up the good work! We were very happy and pleased with David's service. He was very focussed and professional, managed to pry our door open in less than 5 minutes. He even offered us advice on how to ensure that we dont end up locking ourselves out of our bedroom again.
