Hougang is a city laying on the Northern east side of Singapore. The city is the highest in terms of population with more than 222,310 residents. It neighbors’ various regions as follows. Geylang and serangoon to the southern side, Toa Payoh to the southern west, Sengkang to the north and Bedok to the southern east. The city is bordered by Bishan and Ang Mo Kio to the western. Hougang constitutes a total of eight subzones. Six of the zones are as follows; Hougang south, Serangoon north, Buangkok view, Hougang central, Hougang meadow and Kovan. The name Hougang originated from the names Hokkien and Teochew which means river end.
The area had a region called punggol which was famous with pig farming. The region is a major part of Hougang town in modern days. After few years of pigs farming, some farmers were moved to several flats that were built in Hougang. This was in the 1990s.
Hougang is one of the major cities build by the Housing and development board. The region has more than 40,000 housing units intermingled with private residential regions. Major developments have been experienced in Hougang since the year 1977. This has seen the construction of tampines way in the region. Other developments include building of Neighborhoods 1- 3 that were completed by the year 1983. Development for Neighborhoods 4- 7 proceeded and were complete by the year 1992. The year 1994 saw the completion of Neighborhood 8 which serves as the city center of Hougang. Neighborhood 9 is the latest in the region and was completed by the year 2000. Due to the fact that the region has major shopping centers as well as major commercial activities, it is considered the heartland of Singapore. The region is home to shopping malls like Hougang mall, Kang Kar Mall and heartland mall among many others.

I received wonderful service from Jimmy. He reached our location at the agreed timing and proceeded to analyse the situation with our broken lock and explained how he will fix the problem. When we enquired more on the different lock models available for replacement, he was not pushy and explained the pros and cons of each model. In the end, we selected what we thought suited us best. Great & prompt service and I feel very lucky that I found this shop from google! Our main door lock suddenly got spoiled which caused unable me to get in the house on sunday morning. I was exhausted and tired after long walk and grocery shopping. They promptly helped to open the door and replace new one at reasonable price. Not over & hard selling and it's in fact cheaper than other 2 places that I compared. They explained well whats wrong and how they are going to fix it. Keep up the good work! We were very happy and pleased with David's service. He was very focussed and professional, managed to pry our door open in less than 5 minutes. He even offered us advice on how to ensure that we dont end up locking ourselves out of our bedroom again. Takes pride in his skill and he went the extra mile to help me tighten my wooden door (screws were loose due to fair wear and tear), my padlock and even helped me drill a hole on the floor for my wooden door side panel to secure the door. Fast and efficient service, arrived in my house in 30 minutes and finished unlocking the door in 1 minutes time. I am glad that I am still able to use this door lock after unlocking the door lock. Really recommend for emergency door-unlocking.
