Jurong West is one of the New Town planning areas in the West Region in Singapore. It borders other planning areas like Boon Lay, Pioneer, Jurong East, Tengah, and Western Water Catchment. It covers an area of 14.69 square kilometers with over 267,000 people. The region has five constituencies and further divided into nine subzones for purposes of administration. In the 1950s the area was mostly covered by swamps on the lower regions. On the steep sides, there were shrubs and thick jungles. In the 1960s, the district started developing as an industrial area.
More social amenities were designed to support the growing population in the area. Banks and hawker centers were later established in the 1970s when Singapore wanted to develop the region as an economic front. Several towns which include Boon Lay Place, Hong Kah, and Taman Jurong were combined to form Jurong West. The new look of Jurong West New Town started to develop in 1979 by the Housing and Development Board, which began by setting up public housing blocks in the area. The town’s expansion continued in 1982 when it reached Jurong West Expansion with more infrastructures like the Jurong West Avenue and Pioneer Road North boosting the development.
Now, the area boasts of three MRT stations namely Pioneer MRT, Boon Lay MRT and Lakeside MRT. The Boon Lay MRT Station integrates with a bus interchange. Tourism is rampant in the area through facilities like the Singapore Discovery Centre and Singapore Army Museum. Jurong West is home to the largest suburban mall in the Republic of Singapore which is the Jurong Point Shopping Mall. The mall is linked to all the residential areas by bus except Yahua and Teban gardens residential areas. There is also a link from the mall to the Boon Lay MRT Station by the Boon Lay Bus Interchange. There are other shopping centers and malls in the region located strategically at the residential precincts. Jurong West is a densely populated area compared to other planning areas. It ranks the second most populated town in Singapore. There are various social amenities including more than 30 primary, secondary and tertiary learning institutions to support the population

I received wonderful service from Jimmy. He reached our location at the agreed timing and proceeded to analyse the situation with our broken lock and explained how he will fix the problem. When we enquired more on the different lock models available for replacement, he was not pushy and explained the pros and cons of each model. In the end, we selected what we thought suited us best. Great & prompt service and I feel very lucky that I found this shop from google! Our main door lock suddenly got spoiled which caused unable me to get in the house on sunday morning. I was exhausted and tired after long walk and grocery shopping. They promptly helped to open the door and replace new one at reasonable price. Not over & hard selling and it's in fact cheaper than other 2 places that I compared. They explained well whats wrong and how they are going to fix it. Keep up the good work! We were very happy and pleased with David's service. He was very focussed and professional, managed to pry our door open in less than 5 minutes. He even offered us advice on how to ensure that we dont end up locking ourselves out of our bedroom again. Fast and efficient service, arrived in my house in 30 minutes and finished unlocking the door in 1 minutes time. I am glad that I am still able to use this door lock after unlocking the door lock. Really recommend for emergency door-unlocking.
