The road was constructed in the year 1854. Tanglin was also given the name Tang leng. The name Tang leng originated from a Chinese name Twa tang leng. The name meant great hill east crests. In reference to speculations, the name had a connection with many hills located in the region. Some of these hills includes, Cairn, mount Elizabeth and claymore among many others.
Before the year 1822, Tangline was infested with tigers from nearby forests. The year 1822 is one of the memorable years since this is when the Chinese begun moving into this region. The Chinese managed to colonize Tanglin region. The Chinese then began building cottages in the area. Most of the bungalows that they built were located along the numerous hills. The Chinese also began their own spice plantations. Tanglin is known for its famous places named after names relating to Scotland places as well as people. Such areas include, Balmoral which was named after Queen Victoria’s most preferred home. The home is found in Scotland. Edinburg is another place as well whose name links to the duke of Edinburgh. The year 1869 saw the Duke visit Singapore hence the name generating form his visit. The region of Tanglin is one of the major towns which is home to many government’s offices including the post office building.

I received wonderful service from Jimmy. He reached our location at the agreed timing and proceeded to analyse the situation with our broken lock and explained how he will fix the problem. When we enquired more on the different lock models available for replacement, he was not pushy and explained the pros and cons of each model. In the end, we selected what we thought suited us best. Great & prompt service and I feel very lucky that I found this shop from google! Our main door lock suddenly got spoiled which caused unable me to get in the house on sunday morning. I was exhausted and tired after long walk and grocery shopping. They promptly helped to open the door and replace new one at reasonable price. Not over & hard selling and it's in fact cheaper than other 2 places that I compared. They explained well whats wrong and how they are going to fix it. Keep up the good work! We were very happy and pleased with David's service. He was very focussed and professional, managed to pry our door open in less than 5 minutes. He even offered us advice on how to ensure that we dont end up locking ourselves out of our bedroom again. Fast and efficient service, arrived in my house in 30 minutes and finished unlocking the door in 1 minutes time. I am glad that I am still able to use this door lock after unlocking the door lock. Really recommend for emergency door-unlocking.
